Description
This model goes at the problem from the other direction. It shares its body — 13.5 × 6.5 mm square, dual white, 180 LEDs per metre, buckle and screw fixing — with the 12 W model in the range, but it is wound on a 100 m reel instead of 50 m and rated at 8 W and 800 lumens instead of 12 W and 1200. On the datasheet figures both sit at the same 100 lumens per watt, so the lower output is not an efficiency penalty; it is a deliberate trade of light level for run length. Where a 100 m facade needs one joint instead of two, and where 800 lm/m already covers the design, this is the more economical specification.
The trade you are accepting is a 500 mm cutting interval, against 200 mm on the 12 W version. On a long, regular outline that costs nothing; on a facade broken up by pilasters, window returns, or short set pieces it will leave offcuts, and those offcuts are the same money per metre as the installed length. Two further figures differ from the 12 W model and should be read before specifying: power factor is rated > 0.84 rather than > 0.9, and MTBF is stated at 10,000 hours rather than 20,000. On projects with a contractor power-factor requirement, or where a written service-life figure is required for handover documentation, raise it with our engineering team before ordering. Energy efficiency class G. Rated IP65 for sheltered outdoor use — sealed against dust and water jets, not for submersion. CE, CB, and RoHS certified.
