Description
In practice that happens more often than it sounds. Facade contractors standardise on a clip or a channel profile across a project, and a strip that sits half a millimetre low in the clip will work loose under thermal cycling — the strip expands and contracts daily across a -25°C to +45°C operating range, and a loose fit becomes a rattling fit and then a water-ingress path. If your clips are specified for the 5.5 mm body, this is the part to order. If they are specified for 5 mm, use the other one. If neither is specified yet, either will do, and the choice can be made on availability.
The performance envelope is worth stating plainly so the model is specified for the right job. At 400 lm/m this is the lowest output in the W range and is intended to draw a line rather than light a surface — for outline work that needs to do both, the 780 lm/m and 900 lm/m models are the correct starting point. Cutting is at one-metre intervals, so lengths are set in whole metres. Mounting is by clip and screw. Because it runs at mains voltage, current is 0.025 A per metre — roughly one seventeenth of what the same 5 W would draw at 12 V — which is why this type is used on long perimeters. We do not publish a maximum single-feed run length; the datasheet does not state one, so confirm your feed layout before ordering. Rated IP65 for sheltered outdoor use, supplied as a 50 m reel, with CE, CB, and RoHS certification held by the manufacturer.
